Generation Y- a bunch of coffee addicted, binge drinking, rule breaking, all night gaming, weed smoking, fast food chain eating, orange mocha frappacino drinking, forward thinking, environmentally aware, trendy bastards who can't meet the approval of the older generation-the baby boomers and can't get out of the shadow of the famous -generation X.
But let's be honest here, are WE really that deserving of such a bad rep? Is it because we are more open minded? Causing a rise in atheism and beliefs in global warming? Or maybe because we've created our own language of abbreviations which is supposedly slaughtering the English language? Or maybe because we choose to challenge the rules that no other generation has the balls to question?
Don't get me wrong I am fully aware that not everyone in our generation is a pioneer of environmental justice and free thinking, some just want to get drunk off there nuts every weekend and enjoy the high life off their parents money. But are we really that terrible to deserve newspaper headlines such as; "The Dumbest Generation" or "Generation Y Bother"? If roles were reversed my headlines for these older but no wiser generations would be "The Ignorant Generation" or "Baby Boomers; Booming in Conformity and Declining in Logic". But then I would just be classified as disrespectful and begrudging.
All in all each generation believes they are the solution to the world's problems, yet it's been proven baby boomers and generation x do not have all the answers, as they are too scared to ask any questions. As a woman of generation Y this blog is the place where I get to share MY opinions and perspectives of everyday thoughts and issues. Hopefully, I can highlight the translation gap between each generation and prove that Gen Y'ers are not as hopeless as the older generations seem to believe.
